FREIGHT TIMES and personal transport track- line in Sweden
Fast freight transport between locations requires that the terminals are optimally located. It is possible to keep current terminals, when the new tracks rest on pillars.
Equally important for shortening the freight time is that the trains do not have to wait for other freight trains or passenger trains on the tracks. The ideal is to have separate tracks for passenger and freight trains. The time it takes to travel from one place to another depends not only on its speed. The Swedish Transport Administration conducts regular surveys of the extent of delays affecting passengers and goods. Everything from power outages, signal faults, stolen wires, brake faults, collisions with animals or other traffic, to snow obstacles, wet leaves and queues on the track occur here.
How long does the train journey take between different places? The Swedish negotiations have stated train times for the planned routes, and CCT Intermodal states the estimated time required on the same route. The times for the CCT Intermodal trains are calculated so that the start and braking distance are included as well as a stop of 10 minutes for transhipments per station.
The freight times in the tables refer to the same stations as planned by the Swedish Transport Administration / Sweden negotiations.
Planned expansion which can be found in the Swedish Transport Administration's material
The map to the right shows the planned expansion of Sweden's high-speed railways. We follow it as much as possible in our expansion.
